Spot de randonnée Pas de Peyrol Breche du Roland and Puy Mary

Beautiful mountain top and ridge walk taking in a 360 degree vista over seven valley of the Cantal mountains. Start from Pas de Peyrol parking at the Chalet du Puy Mary and walk around the North side of the extinct volcano. Follow the clearly marked paths to join the GR400 path at the Eastern base of Puy Mary. Turn Easat and traverse the Breche du Roland and on to the Fours de Peyre Arse and finally climb up to the summit of the second volcanic peak of Peyre Arse itself. After a pause to enjoy the spectacular views return along the Fours and the Breche before climbing the Eastern side of Puy Mary to its viewpoint. Return to the start and a cold beer and some local food at the Chalet to watch the sunset over the peaks to the West.
